Cabo de la Vela

Where the desert meets the sea. Wind, freedom, and endless horizons.

Welcome to Cabo de la Vela, the wild north of Colombia – a magical place shaped by wind, waves and Wayuu culture.

Cabo de la Vela

Cabo is one of the most consistent wind spots in South America – with perfect conditions from December to August, and flat water that’s ideal for learning, freestyle, racing and Big Air.
But it’s more than just a kite destination. It’s a feeling. A lifestyle.
A place to disconnect, breathe, and find your flow.

A magical mix of desert, ocean and culture.

The place

Cabo de la Vela sits on the La Guajira peninsula and is home to the indigenous Wayuu people. Life here follows the rhythm of nature: sun, wind and sea.

What makes Cabo so special:

  • Raw, untouched landscapes far from mass tourism
  • World-class wind almost every day of the year
  • Shallow, flat water ideal for beginners
  • Wide, open beaches with plenty of space
  • Spectacular sea-sunsets and sunrises over the desert

Cabo is simple and authentic — no big hotels, no parties, no crowds.
Just nature, silence, and perfect wind.
